Kennebunk Soccer Club        

Kennebunk Soccer Club is a partner to and strong supporter of

Kennebunk-Kennebunkport Youth Fields Association (KKYFA)

  KKYFA is a non-profit organization formed for the specific purpose of fundraising and development of athletic fields at the Kennebunk Elementary School site.  KKYFA was formed in collaboration with three primary athletic clubs: Kennebunk Soccer Club, Kennebunk-Kennebunkport Little League and Kennebunk Lacrosse Club.  Development of this project has been ongoing over the past 24 months.

In 2004, the townspeople of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport voted in favor of the
exploration and development of these athletic fields.  As such, they voted to allocate $50,000
to conduct an engineering site plan for two soccer / lacrosse fields and two baseball fields
(one to be used as a primary softball field).  To date the site plan has been completed and
approved by the Town Planning Board, and we have received approval and a construction
permit from the Department of Environmental Protection.  In addition, KKYFA has identified
a local contractor to develop the playing fields.

These 10 plus acres of land located on the grounds of Kennebunk Elementary School have
been subleased to KKYFA by the town of Kennebunk for the specific purpose of developing
these fields.  This occurred in October of 2007 with a unanimous vote by the Board of
Selectmen to recognize KKYFA as the primary organization they would lease this land to, as
well as release the remaining funds allocated to this project.  We have received full support
of the three youth athletic clubs to assume the leadership role in this project that will benefit
all three clubs and our community.  

KKYFA filed with the State of Maine as a non-profit organization in March of 2007, and
received its tax exempt status (501c3) from the IRS in November of 2007 (see attached).  
The Board of Directors currently consists of nine members.  The officers are Larry
Gassman (President), Walter Wiewel (Vice President), Beth Madore (Treasurer) and John
Bear (Secretary).
